LiST: Lives Saved Tool

September 30, 2016 The Lives Saved Tool was used to identify interventions that reduced under-5 mortality in Ethiopia from 2000-2011.

Before 2000, the under-5 mortality rate was 218 deaths per 1000 live births. By the 2007-2011 time period, the rate dropped to 88 deaths per 1000 live births. In addition, the prevalence of stunting fell in Ethiopia since 2000. The scale up of ORS, WASH interventions, DPT3 and measles vaccination were among the key interventions that Doherty and colleagues identified. The full article can be found here
